I like to travel to see the world. That includes some big trips and some small adventures.

The trips

Yellowstone, 2021

A little over a week driving west through nine states, three national parks, and three national monuments, with Yellowstone as the destination.

Moab, 2020

A 1,500-mile pandemic road trip to Moab, including Hurrah Pass, Chicken Corners, a rented side-by-side, and the reopening of the national parks.

Africation, 2016

An epic family trip through Rwanda and Tanzania to see mountain gorillas, learn about Rwanda and its history, and go on safari.

Yellowstone by Air, 2011

A father-and-son adventure with Drew and Rick: flying a Cessna 172 from Indiana to Yellowstone, then crossing the park and Grand Teton country.

Chicago, 2008

A spring-break weekend downtown: Michigan Avenue, the American Girl store, Millennium Park, the Art Institute, a bus tour, and Chicago pizza.

Philadelphia and Niagara, 2007

Photographs from family travels in the spring and summer of 2007, from the Shenandoah to Philadelphia and Niagara Falls.

Washington and New York, 2001

A family trip to Washington, D.C., and New York City, including a visit to the World Trade Center just three weeks before September 11.

USS Enterprise, 2000

Two days aboard CVN-65: a COD landing, 24 hours learning how the carrier and its crew worked, and a catapult launch back to shore.

Kings Island, 2000

A July day at Kings Island with family, Scooby-Doo, and the carousel.
